PreK-1 Supply List for the 3 and 4 yr. old Students

 Dear Parents,

Welcome to Pre-K 1!  I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  My name is Elizabeth Rodriguez.  I am beginning my 23rd year as an early childhood educator and for the last 18 years I have been working within the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of New York. This will be my 13th year at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School and I am committed to providing a solid, well-rounded, academic program, in a caring, nurturing environment for your child.
If you have chosen to register your child into my class, I know that you value the importance of a high-quality early learning catholic education.  Pre-K will be one of the greatest milestones your child will reach. This important milestone will help guide your child and they will enter the Pre-K 4 yr. old class and the Kindergarten class ready to learn next year.  It is also the most important foundation to prepare them to thrive in elementary school and beyond.
As you know our class will have both the 3 and 4 year old Pre-K students merged together.  This will be a wonderful experience for both groups as each child will learn to their highest potential.  I also realize that we are living in a different kind of world with Covid-19 but I promise you that I will care for your children and make sure they are safe as they continue to learn the importance of washing hands and keeping masks on.  With God’s protection He will see us all through this school year healthy and safe.
Please find attached the needed supplies for this school year.  I will meet with all parents on September 6th for Parent Orientation at 12:00pm before school starts to give you a classroom tour, also to discuss with you our class regulations, curriculum, schedule, and answer any questions or concerns you might have.  I will also continue to provide any important information through this blog throughout the entire school year.  I look forward to meeting you all!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Rodriguez

School Tour

Dear parents of students in Ms. Rodriguez’s Pre-K 1 class,

You are invited to tour the school tomorrow, Wednesday March 30th . In order to keep our school community safe, we require that all parents wear a mask when entering the building. We ask that you meet in the gymnasium at 9:00 a.m. The tour of the entire building will be given by the students of the 8th grade. Parents are asked to not engage the teacher and aides in conversation as they will be working with the whole class during the tour. The tour will allow parents to spend a few minutes observing each classroom and will be approximately 30 to 45 minutes long. So as not to interfere with snack, lunch, and naptime, the tour will end by 10:00 a.m. Mr. Woods will be available after the tour for any questions. As always, you can reach out to me via email at MsRodriguez@olqmnyc.org with any questions you may have.

Thank you and see you tomorrow!

Ms. Elizabeth Rodriguez
