Welcome Back to School!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

Reminders:
-  Friday, Early Dismissal 12 noon - Faculty Meeting
-  Make sure children have all supplies everyday.  Pencil cases should have 5 sharpened pencils, erasers,  glue sticks, and scissor.  Crayon cases should have crayons and colored pencils.
-  Reading bags have begun to go home, please make sure your children are reading every night from reading bags and home library.  Make sure children bring reading bags back to school everyday.

Reminders:
- Thanksgiving Food Drive -- Please cooperate with any canned goods for those in need.
- School Closed - Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving
- Since we have a short week, I will not be giving new vocabulary words for this week.  I will only introduce our regular High Frequency Words for the week.  Any new vocabulary words I will add when we return from Thanksgiving break.
-  Please make sure your child is reading everyday and put in practice the ideas we discussed during our conference meeting last week.
-  We have run out of tissue boxes, I am asking all families to please cooperate with 1 -2 tissue boxes for our class.  Thank you all!!!

Week of 11/8/10 - 11/12/10

Dear Parents,
   I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  As we enter the last week of the first school quarter, I will continue assessing independent practice in all subject areas and give the children their final quiz and tests for this quarter.
    I want to remind everyone that the Thanksgiving Food Drive has begun and all canned and boxed goods will be greatly appreciated.  The school class that donates the most cans will win a pizza party.
    Thursday, November 11, 2010 school is closed in observance of Veterans Day.
    I also want to remind parents to please make sure your child has all needed school supply's everyday.  Children should have 4 - 5 sharpened pencils in their pencil cases. They should have a case with crayons and colored pencils.  They should always remember to return their homework folders and please make sure you sign all tests and quizzes that are sent home at the end of the week.
    We are also quickly running out of tissue boxes, baby wipes, hand sanitizers and paper towels.  These items were part of the supply list in September, those that have not contributed yet, your help will be greatly appreciated.

As you read in our November calendar we will have the First Quarter Word Wall Test this week.  The words I posted on Sunday will be on next weeks Vocabulary test.  
This Friday the Vocabulary test will be on all the previous words we learned for this quarter.  All the words are in the classwork notebooks for reviewing.
