News of the Week
- Please make sure your child has received their flu shot. If your child does not have a flu shot they will not be able to return to school after the Christmas Recess.
- On Dec. 13th we will have a Christmas show in the auditorium at 10am and on Dec. 21st we will have Lessons and Carols in the Church at 10am. For both occasions children are to wear dress up clothes and wear something red or green. No jeans and no sneakers please.
- Gym uniform is to be worn on Friday's.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Religion: Children will learn about the Advent season and the gift of families.
Reading: Children will listen and respond to the story "La Tortuga."
Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Ff and Gg.
Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify beginning sounds /f/ and /g/.
Math: Children will learn about extending patterns. Children will identify numbers 6 and 7.
Science: Children will learn about day and night.
Social Studies: Children will create a Christmas family tree.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group): Children will learn to read and write the sight word "find."
Review: 4yr. old children should be reviewing the following sight words everyday at home: a, and, away, big, blue, can, come, down.
