News of the Week
- Wednesday, Nov. 16th Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held in person from 1:00pm - 2:45pm. If you are unable to attend in person we will also have conferences though Zoom from 3:00pm - 5:45pm. Please email me at msrodriguez@olqmnyc.org to make an appointment and I will confirm if the time slot is available.
- Friday, Nov. 18th we will be celebrating Mickey Mouse's Birthday, The children are allowed to dress up as Mickey or Minnie Mouse for the day. We will have a school costume contest at the end of the day.
- I want to inform you to please remember to take home the sleeping mats every Friday for washing and always remember to return them on Monday's.
- Gym uniform is to be worn on Friday's.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Religion: Children will learn about God's gift of our families.
Reading: Children will listen and respond to the story "The Three Bears."
Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Ee.
Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify beginning sound /e/.
Math: Children will identify 3D shapes.
Science: Children will learn about different forms of weather. Children will participate in an experiment creating clouds in a bottle.
Social Studies: Children will identify all family members that live in their home and create a visual display.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group): Children will learn to read and write the sight word "can."
Review: 4yr. old children should be reviewing the following sight words everyday at home: a, and, away, big, blue, can.
