PreK Summer Program

 Good Morning Parents, 

I have GREAT NEWS, Mrs. Fundora will be back this summer to do the Pre-K Summer Program for our class.  If you would like to enroll your child in the program please return the form I sent home yesterday via your child's homework folder.  Even if you are not interested please complete the form letting us know your child will not be joining us.  It is important we know the total number of children that will be enrolling in the program as there will be limited space.  Mrs. Fundora's summer program is wonderful for the little ones and children are going to have a wonderful time learning and enjoying various activities. Look forward to hearing from you soon!

 News of the Week 

- Welcome Back to School! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter break!

- Tuesday, May 3rd we will have "Muffins with Mom" in celebration of Mother's Day.  All our Mommies are invited at 9am in the auditorium to enjoy muffins and some singing with your little preschoolers. 

- Please remember to bring sleeping mats back to school.

This week the children will be learning the following: 

Reading -  Children will listen and respond to the book "The Tug of War."

Phonics - Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letter Ss.

Phonemic Awareness / Phonics - Children will identify letter sound /s/.

Religion -  Children will learn about God's gift of living things.  

Math -  Children will continue to solve addition problems and write a number sentence. 

Social Studies - Children will about keeping the environment clean. Children will learn about Earth Day.

Science - Children will learn about the parts of a plant.  

Sight Words (4yr. old Group) - Children will read and write the word "my."

The 4yr. old group should be reviewing the following words: 

Sight Words:  a, and, away, big, can, come, down, find, for, funny, go, help, here, in, is, it, jump, little, look, make, me, my.

Number Words: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, zero.

Phonics SeeSaw - Identify pictures with beginning sound /r/. 

Reminders:

- Tomorrow, April 8th I will be having an Easter Party for the children if you can please donate $5. for pizza, juice, chips and other treats I will greatly appreciate it.

- Tomorrow children are allowed to wear their Easter best for their party.  No uniform Tomorrow!

- Lenten donation boxes are due by tomorrow. 

- Easter Recess April 11th and school resumes April 25th.
