- Discuss with your child the order the events in the story happened.
Ask your child: What happened first in the story? (Acceptable answer, Grandfather told Peter not to go into the forest.)
Ask your child: What happened next? (Acceptable answer, Peter didn't listen and went to the forest. Along the way he met Sasha, Sonja and Ivan.)
Ask your child: Then what happened? (Acceptable answer, Wolf started chasing Sonja the duck and the duck disappeared or they might say the wolf ate the duck).
Ask your child: What happened last in the story? Peter caught the wolf by the tail, Ivan the Cat helped tie him up, or your child might say, the duck was alive she was hiding in the tree the whole time)
*** If your child is struggling of how the events happened, go back to the story to remind them.
Activity: As your child is retelling the story to you in sequence order have them draw a picture by creating their own little book and folding two sheets of paper in half and stapling them into a book. So begin each page in their book with the sequence words, "First, Next, Then, Last." So their books will be 4 pages in total.

Sight Words: Review the word "run." Have your child read the word and add it to your set of word cards. Have your child use it in a sentence. If your child is able to identify the word independently you can begin to encourage them to dictate and write a simple sentence. For example: "I like to run." "I like to run at the park." "We will run home." "We will run to
school." etc...
