Note to Parents for Week of March 23, 2020

Dear Parents,
I hope everyone is well and safe.  Just wanted to remind you that this coming week I will continue providing you with assignments and activities you can do with your child at home for all subjects.  I will be calling everyone tomorrow to offer my help or you can contact me and send me an email with any questions or concerns at msrodriguezolqm@gmail.com. Tomorrow morning I will post the assignments for the day and I will be available via email if you have any questions. I will now post what you can do with your child as a morning routine to help them feel some normalcy of what they did every morning in the classroom.

Morning Routine:
- Please pray with your child the Our Father, I have also taught the children to pray the Hail Mary and Glory Be.  After prayers you can sing with them "Jesus Loves Me" which we sang together every morning and did sign language to the song as well.

- Continue with the Pledge of Allegiance and singing Star Spangled Banner Youtube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPKp29Luryc

- Go to Starfall.com and go over the calendar and ask the following questions:
**What month are we in?
**After your child reads the days of the week, ask: How many days of the week do we have?
**What day comes before Tuesday?
** What number comes after 22 or What number comes before 24?
** Count how many days in the month of March
** Discuss any special events happening in March such as start of Spring, St. Patrick's Day or birthdays.

- After your finished with calendar they can get up and do a little exercise and sing along to the movement song called, "12 Months of the Year" Youtube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omkuE6Wa5kQ

- You can continue by discussing the weather and seasons. Sing a weather song, "How's the Weather" Youtube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD6FRDd9Hew continue by singing a season's song, "If You Know all the Seasons" Youtube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BkkzF9z4-g

- You can end the morning routine by having your child create a Morning Message and use any of their sight words to tell of something fun or special they will be doing that day.

As I mentioned above, tomorrow morning after my 8:00am meeting with Mr. Woods and the rest of the faculty through Zoom I will post the assignments for the day.  I will be available through email at msrodriguezolqm@gmail.com starting at 8:30am.  I know its very difficult to deal with working from home for your own jobs and to help your child continue their education at home.  Do as much as you can and whatever I can help with please let me know.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Rodriguez
