Assignments for Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Religion -  Children will understand that praying is talking to God.  Children will also understand that when they sing to God is also praising, praying and talking to God too.  
Song: Have your child sing along to "A Gift To You."  Help your child understand that every time they sing to God is a special time of prayer and praise as well.

Activity:  Draw a picture of something you would like to talk to God about. 

Phonics and Phonemic Awareness -  Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Qq. Children will identify letter sound /kw/.  Children will identify words with initial sound /kw/.

Activity: Write uppercase and lowercase Qq for your child on anything you want and have them copy it.  Make it playful and if you have playdough you can have them shape out the letters or if you have watercolors or paint you can have them practice writing it with paint.  Be creative and use whatever you have at home so they can practice writing the letter Qq. 

Math -  We will begin a new unit on Addition. 
Demonstrate for your child how to join groups together.  Use connecting cubes, legos or whatever you have at home that can be used as counters.
Explain to your child that they will be joining groups and adding which means to put two groups together. 
For example: 2 red legos and 1 blue lego makes 3 altogether.
Activity: Math Workbook Complete pgs. 337 - 338.

Sight Words: Review the sight word "Me."  Have your child read it and use the word in a sentence.
