Religion - Children will review some of the Bible stories they have read in Pre-K.
Discussion: Where can we find stories about Jesus?
Why is the Bible important to us?
Name some of the Bible stories we have read at school? (God's Creations, Noah's Ark, Jonah and the Whale, Jesus in the Temple, The Good Samaritan, Jesus Feeds Thousands of People etc...)
Activity: Retell a Bible story to your family.
Phonics - Introduce letter of the week uppercase and lowercase Rr.

Activity: If you have a wipe board, blackboard, easel with paint, playdough etc... have your child practice writing uppercase and lowercase Rr. If you don't have any of those things just use paper, crayons or pencils to practice writing. Have your child draw two pictures of something that begins with the /r/ sound.
Phonemic Awareness: Play the syllable game and have your child clap for every syllable in a word. Remind your child that syllables are parts of a word. Have them name objects around the house and clap for each syllable in that word. For example: Ta - ble (2 claps, 2 syllables in the word "table.")
Sight Words: Have your child read and spell out the word "my". Then have them use the word "my" in a sentence.
Science: Children will continue to learn about the life cycle of a plant. Click on the link below to listen to the stories, "Planting a Rainbow," by Lois Ehlert and "It Could Still be a Flower," by Alan Fowler. Then watch the video, "What are Plants?" and do the Activity, "Nutrition and Vocabulary, Eat Plant Parts."
