Assignments for Monday, March 30, 2020

Dear Families, 

I want to apologize for the late post today but I'm having difficulty with my internet service at home today and it comes and goes. 
I want to remind all families to also go to Mrs. Alma's blog as she has posted a list of more songs your child can sing along to. 
Also, sometime this week I will be calling all the children through Zoom. If you can please download this app to your Computer, iPad, laptop or cell phone.  I will provide you with the Zoom ID number so you're child will be able to join the meeting.  It is a wonderful opportunity to talk to all the children and the children will also be able to see their friends. 
I will be calling everyone by phone again this week and please if you have any questions or concerns remember you can always e-mail me at msrodriguezolqm@gmail.com.

Religion - Children will learn about Palm Sunday.

Discussion: Help your child understand that Palm Sunday was the day Jesus went into Jerusalem and that day is about Jesus letting people know he was the Son of God.  Explain how people received Jesus into Jerusalem and how this made other people more angry.  Palm Sunday was the beginning of the Easter Story. 

Phonics - Children will be introduced to uppercase and lowercase Ss. Children will be introduced to letter sound /s/.

Activity: Have your child write the letter S and decorate it as a snake, starfish, strawberry or decorate by pasting stars on it.  Then e-mail me your child's creation sometime this week at msrodriguezolqm@gmail.com.  I would love to see their art work.
     

Phonemic Awareness: Review rhyming words

Sight Words: Introduce your child to the word "not."  Read it three times and use it in a sentence. Add the word "not" to your word cards.  

Math: Children will listen to an addition story and add 2 more to a group.

If you're computer device does not allow your child to interact directly on the screen to use the pictures and solve the addition stories than have your child draw pictures to solve the problem on a piece of paper.
