News of the Week
- Friday, Feb. 11th Early Dismissal 12 Noon, Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please email me at msrodriguez@olqmnyc.org with a time slot that you are able to meet with me through Zoom on Friday between 1:00pm - 5:30pm to discuss your child's progress.
- After-School Program will not be available on Friday, February 11, 2022
- I want to congratulate all the parents for helping your child complete the online SeeSaw activities throughout the week, the children have been very excited and every morning tell me how much they loved doing their homework on their electrical devices. If you need any help please let me know.
- Please remember to bring sleeping mats back to school.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Reading - Children will listen and respond to the book "The Nightingale."
Phonics - Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letter Ll.
Phonemic Awareness / Phonics - Children will identify letter sound /l/.
Religion - Children will learn about our gift of feelings and how to manage our feelings. Children will learn about the importance of obeying our parents.
Math - Children will begin to learn about measuring.
Science - Children will do an experiment on how to form crystals.
Social Studies - Children will learn about community workers.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group) - Children will read and write the word "here."
The 4yr. old group should be reviewing the following words:
Sight Words: a, and, away, big, can, come, down, find, for, funny, go, help, here
Number Words: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, zero.
