Week of 2/14/22 - 2/18/22

News of the Week 

- Tomorrow, Feb. 14th is Valentine's Day children are allowed to wear something red or pink.  No uniform. If you your child wishes to bring in Valentine's Day treats to share with their friends please feel free to do so.  

- Thursday, Feb. 17th we will be celebrating the 100th Day of School.  Children are allowed to dress up as 100 year old little old men and little old ladies. There will be a school contest for the best costume in each class. 

- Monday, Feb. 21st School Closed in observance of President's Day

- Please remember to bring sleeping mats back to school.


This week the children will be learning the following: 

Reading -  Children will listen and respond to the book "The Nightingale."

Phonics - Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letters Ll and Mm. 

Phonemic Awareness / Phonics - Children will identify letter sounds /l/ and /m/.

Religion -  Children will learn about our gift of feelings and how to manage our feelings. Children will learn about the importance of obeying our parents. 

Math -  Children will continue to learn about measuring. 

Science - Children will do an experiment on how to form crystals. 

Social Studies - Children will learn about community workers and create a self-portrait of what they want to be when they grow up. Children will also learn about the role of a President. 

Sight Words (4yr. old Group) - Children will read and write the word "in."


The 4yr. old group should be reviewing the following words: 

Sight Words:  a, and, away, big, can, come, down, find, for, funny, go, help, here, in

Number Words: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, zero.
