News of the Week
- Tuesday, February 9th, will the the Valentines Day Show at 9am. Children are to wear something pink or red.
- Since we cannot have the Valentine's Day party for the children on Friday because school will be closed. We have decided to have it on Tuesday, if you can please donate $5. to help purchase pizza, and treats for the party, I will greatly appreciate your help.
- Wednesday, February 10th Ash Wednesday Mass at 11am.
- Friday, February 12th School Closed - Teacher Conference Day
- Students who will be entering PreK3, Prek4 or Kindergarten in September 2016 must register online at Apply Now. To make it easier for parents there is a link on the school website immediately when you open the page of www. olqmnyc.org. Alba, Brianna and Alan will also assist you in the office as there is a computer setup in the hallway and also in Alan's office for parents. Scholarships are available for all students who are registered through the Apply Now website.

Please review identifying the following:
- Try to read a book everyday to your child and help them identify story characters, setting, and retelling story in sequence order. This week we will continue listening and responding to the story "The Nightingale." Children will also listen and respond to stories about President's Day and Valentine's Day.
- This week for Math children will be counting, composing and decomposing numbers to 8. Children will continue to write addition equations. Review by creating addition stories using connecting cubes, legos or any other props you have at home. Have the children use the plus and equal symbols when dictating the story.
- Identify the following Uppercase and Lowercase Letters: Mm, Tt, Rr, Ss, Cc, Pp, Aa, Nn, Dd, Ll, Gg, Ii, Bb, Oo, Ee and Jj.
- Identify and Read Sight Words: I, my, the, and, see, in, a, can, go, to, little, big, jump, for, find, make.
- Identify Color Words: red, blue, yellow, purple, green, black
