Week of 10/31/22 - 11/4/22

 News of the Week 

- Tomorrow, Monday October 31st, for the children in the After-School Program please remember after-school will only be held until 6pm.

- Tomorrow, Monday, October 31st we will celebrate Halloween at our school.  Children are allowed to wear their costumes to school.  We will have a Halloween Parade and it will begin at 8:30am, parents are invited for the parade. After you drop off your child in the morning to our classroom you can then wait in the school lunchroom where we will meet for the parade, after the parade parents must go home. Children will continue the Halloween festivities in the classroom for the rest of the day. Please make sure your child has a Trick or Treat Bag.

- If you have not done so yet I am asking for all parents to please donate $5. to purchase pizza, cupcakes, juice boxes and other Halloween treats.  Also, I am asking each child to please bring in one bag of candy to share with their classmates.  

- I want to inform you to please remember to take home the sleeping mats every Friday for washing and always remember to return them on Monday's.  

- Gym uniform is to be worn on Friday's. 


This week the children will be learning the following: 

Religion: Children will learn about God's gift of our families.

Reading: Children will listen and respond to the story "The Three Bears."

Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Dd. 

Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify beginning sound /d/.

Math: Children will identify and create 2D shapes.

Science: Children will experiment and create a pumpkin volcano.  Children will identify the parts of a pumpkin. 

Sight Words (4yr. old Group): Children will learn to read and write the sight word "can." 


Review:  4yr. old children should be reviewing the following sight words everyday at home: a, and, away, big, blue.

Math: Children will identify 2D shapes.

Science: Children will experiment and create a pumpkin volcano.  Children will identify the parts of a pumpkin.

Week of 10/3/22 - 10/7/22

 News of the Week 

- Tuesday, Oct. 4th. Chancellor Banks and Superintendent Deegan will be visiting our school.  Children are to wear their full school uniform. 

- Wednesday, Oct. 5th is Picture Day! Please make sure I receive the picture envelope money by Tuesday if you want your child's picture taken.  For picture day you have the choice of having your child wear their school uniform or dress up clothes for their individual school picture, it is your choice. 

- Reminder that dismissal is at 3:00pm.
