News of the Week
- Please make sure the 4yr. old Group is reviewing their letters, letter sounds, number recognition, counting and sight words as I will be assessing them this week.
- Please make sure all children have extra masks in their bookbags as they tend to wet them and dirty them and often need to be changed.
- Please remember to check this blog every afternoon for homework assignments and Sunday evenings or Monday mornings for our weekly news.
- Please remember to bring sleeping mats back to school.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Reading - Children will listen and respond to the book "Jingles, Poems and Rhymes."
Phonics - Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letter Jj.
Phonemic Awareness / Phonics - Children will identify short and long vowel sound /j/.
Religion - Children will continue to learn about God's gift of animals. Children will also learn that God loves each one of us the way we are.
Math - Children will identify number 10. Children will learn different ways to show number 10 and they will compose and decompose 10.
Science - Children will do an experiment and observe how salt melts ice.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group) - Children will read and write the word "go."
The 4yr. old group should be reviewing the following words:
Sight Words: a, and, away, big, can, come, down, find, for, funny, go
Number Words: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, zero.
