News of the Week
- Please make sure the 4yr. old Group is reviewing their letters, letter sounds, number recognition, counting and sight words as I will be assessing them this week.
- Friday, Feb. 4th Early Dismissal 12 Noon - Faculty Meeting.
- I have provided every student with the school Gmail account and everyone has received an invitation to join our Google Classroom via that email so please remember to log in to your child's Gmail account to accept the invitation so that you have access to our classroom news and assignments.
- Tomorrow I will be sending home instructions on how to join our SeeSaw program which is an online program where children will have the opportunity to review different skills in both literacy, phonics and mathematics.
- Please make sure all children have extra masks in their bookbags as they tend to wet them and dirty them and often need to be changed.
- Please remember to check this blog and Google Classroom every afternoon for homework assignments and Sunday evenings or Monday mornings for our weekly news.
- Please remember to bring sleeping mats back to school.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Reading - Children will listen and respond to the book "Jingles, Poems and Rhymes."
Phonics - Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letter Kk.
Phonemic Awareness / Phonics - Children will identify letter sound /k/.
Religion - Children will also learn that God loves each one of us the way we are. Children will learn about our gift of feelings and how to manage our feelings.
Math - Children will begin to learn about measuring.
Science - Children will do an experiment on how to form crystals. Children will also learn about animal hibernation.
Social Studies - Children will learn about Groundhog's Day. Children will learn about community workers.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group) - Children will read and write the word "help."
The 4yr. old group should be reviewing the following words:
Sight Words: a, and, away, big, can, come, down, find, for, funny, go, help
Number Words: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, zero.
