News of the Week
- We are collecting canned goods to donate to the Notre Dame Food Pantry for Thanksgiving. Please bring in as many cans as possible before Tuesday morning which is the last day.
- I have decided to have a Thanksgiving Party for the children on Wednesday if you can please donate $5. to buy pizza and other treats for the children I will greatly appreciate it.
- School we be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving Break.
- Every Thursday children are to wear their Gym uniforms.
- Please remember to check this blog every afternoon for homework assignments and Sunday evenings or Monday mornings for our weekly news.
- Please remember to bring sleeping mats back to school.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Reading - Children will listen and respond to the story "La Tortuga."
Phonemic Awareness / Phonics - Children will identify initial sounds. Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letter Gg and letter sound /g/.
Religion - Children will learn about the celebration of Thanksgiving Day.
Math - Children will learn how to create and extend patterns.
Science - Children will begin to learn about different forms of weather. Children will explore and do an experiment on clouds.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group) - Children will read and write the color word "down."
The 4yr. old group should be reviewing the following words:
Sight Words: a, and, away, big, can, come, down
Number Words: one, two, three, four, five
Color Words: red, blue
