News of the Week
- We are collecting canned goods to donate to the Notre Dame Food Pantry for Thanksgiving. Please bring in as many cans as possible before our Thanksgiving Break.
- This Thursday, Nov. 18th we will be celebrating Mickey Mouse's Birthday. The children are allowed to wear a Mickey or Minnie costume to school. We will have a class costume contest for the best costume.
- Friday, Nov. 19th Early Dismissal 12 Noon for Parent/Teacher Conferences.
- Pre-K does not have report cards going home on Nov. 18th. However, we will meet through Zoom this Friday, Nov. 19th starting at 1:00pm and the last available appointment will be at 5:45pm to discuss your child's progress. Please send me an email and let me know what time works best for you and I will let you know if that time slot is available. During this week I will provide you with the Zoom information you will need to log in on Friday.
- Every Thursday children are to wear their Gym uniforms.
- Please remember to check this blog every afternoon for homework assignments and Sunday evenings or Monday mornings for our weekly news.
- Please remember to bring sleeping mats back to school.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Reading - Children will listen and respond to a different version of the story "The Three Bears."
Phonemic Awareness / Phonics - Children will identify initial sounds. Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letters Ee and Ff and letter sounds /e/ and /f/.
Religion - Children will learn about God's gift of family and the Holy Family.
Math - Children will continue to learn and identify 3D shapes.
Science - Children will begin to learn about different forms of weather. Children will explore and do an experiment on clouds.
Social Studies - Children will about different kinds of families.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group) - Children will read and write the color word "down."
The 4yr. old group should be reviewing the following words:
Sight Words: a, and, away, big, can, come, down
Number Words: one, two, three, four, five
Color Words: red, blue
