News of the Week 

- Thursday, January 11, 2018 Mr. Woods would like to meet with all PreK-2 parents in the library at 8:30am regarding registration for Kindergarten.

- Monday, January 15, 2018 School Closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

- Wednesday, January 17, 2018 Parent Workshop entitled "Who's the Boss" at 8:00am in the auditorium.

This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion: Children will learn about the gift of God's animals.
- Science: Children will learn about the formation of crystals.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will learn to identify beginning and ending sound /s/.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Ss.
- Reading Comprehension: Children will listen and respond to the story, "The Mitten," by Jan Brett. Children will identify story elements.  Children will retell a story in sequence order.
- Social Studies: Children will become aware of the relationship between people, places, and regions.
- Math: Children will identify numbers 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.
- Storytime and Learning Centers: Children will listen and respond to the story, "A Picture Book of Martin Luther King Jr." by David A. Adler. Children will learn about the life of Martin Luther King Jr.
