News of the Week
- Wednesday, Oct. 31st we will be celebrating Halloween. Children will be allowed to wear their costumes to school on this day. Please refrain from any costumes with weapons, as swords and guns are not allowed. We will have a Halloween Parade at 8:30am around the school building to the upper grade classrooms and parents are allowed to attend the parade. After the parade the parents leave and the children will continue with their Halloween festivities for the day in the classroom. There will be a Halloween Costume Contest at 1:00pm in the auditorium for the 3 best costumes for all the Pre-K classrooms and Kindergarten classrooms, parents are invited to attend.
*** Please make sure your child has a trick or treat bag for the Halloween parade on Wednesday. Thank You.
- Individual Picture Day will be November 6th. Picture envelopes must be handed to Mrs. Resto by Nov. 5th.
This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion: Children will discuss Halloween safety rules. Children will learn that God's love comes to us through our families.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify words with beginning sounds /c/ and /d/.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Cc and Dd.
- Reading Comprehension: Children will listen and respond to a different version of the story "The Three Little Bears."
- Math: Children will learn how to count back by building descending number stairs at the concrete and pictorial levels.
- Science: Children will use their 5 senses to explore and interpret information by carving a pumpkin.
- Social Studies: Children will learn about different kinds of families.
- Sight Words: Children will learn to identify and read the words "big" and "blue."
