Note To Parents

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow we will have Lessons and Carols at the Church at 8:30am, the children will perform their songs again and all parents are invited.  All children are to wear red or green tops with black bottoms. Girls can wear a red or green dress as well or the children can wear the same outfits from Tuesday if you would like.

Today I will send home their sleeping mats and seat sacks for washing over the break.  Please make sure to return the mats and the seat sacks when we return Jan. 4th.
Tomorrow children do not need to bring any snacks as I will purchase lunch and snack for them with the $5. all the families donated.

I want to wish everyone a Joyous Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

Lessons of the Week: 
Math: Children will identify 3D shapes.  Children will identify which 3D shapes roll, stack or slide. 
Reading: Children will listen and respond to the story "The Gingerbread Boy," "The Gingerbread Girl," and "Gingerbread Friends." Children will retell the stories in sequence order. Children will identify and compare story characters.  Children will compare and contrast both stories. 
ReligionChildren will learn about the Christmas story. 
Art: Children will use water colors to create their favorite Christmas tradition with their family.  
Social Studies: Children will create Santa and Reindeer Christmas cards for their families.  
Science: Children will use different materials to decorate gingerbread cookies. 
Music and Movement: Children will learn the songs, "Jingle Bells," and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."

For tomorrow Thursday, Dec. 10th children are allowed to Dress Down for $1.
Friday, Dec. 11th all children must be in their full uniforms as the Board of Trustees will be visiting our school.

Week of 12/7/15 - 12/11/15

News of the Week
- Our Faculty Meeting has been changed to Monday, December 14th as the Board of Trustees will be visiting our school on Friday.  Therefore, Friday, Dec. 11th we will have 3:00pm dismissal.  Monday, Dec. 14th we will have early dismissal at 12pm. 

- I want to remind everyone that Friday, December 11th all children must be in full dress uniform. 

- Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass, Tuesday, Dec. 8th at 9am.  

- Thrusday, Dec. 10th children will be assessed on recognizing and writing letters Aa, Nn, Dd and Ll.  Also, identifying letter sounds /a/, /n/, /d/, and /l/.

Lessons of the Week:
-  This week we will continue our "Families and Communities" theme.  
Math: Children will identify 3D shapes.  Children will match the faces of 2D shapes to 3D shapes.  
Reading: Children will listen and respond to the story "The Shoemaker and the Elves." Children will retell the story in sequence order. Children will listen for directions to recall story details.  Children will also continue working on their family books.
ReligionChildren will continue to prepare for Jesus' birth during the Advent season. Children will work together to put together a Jesse Tree. 
Art: Children will use water colors to create their favorite Christmas tradition with their family.  
Social Studies: Children will create a Christmas Family Tree. 
Science: Children will use a magnifying glass to investigate and identify fingerprints. Children will identify and match the fingerprints of the people responsible for eating Santa's cookies. 
Music and Movement: Children will learn the songs, "Jesus is our Light, "Oh Christmas Tree," Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar."
