News of the Week
- Halloween Party will be Friday, Oct. 30th. Children are to wear their Halloween costumes to school. Please remember that weapons such as swords, guns etc... are not allowed. Also, girls are to wear appropriate shoes, princess costumes with shoes with heels are not allowed for safety reasons.
- Halloween Parade will begin at 9am all parents are welcome to attend the parade.
- Also, I am asking all families to please donate $5. to purchase McDonald's and other Halloween treats.

News of the Week
- We will have a Parent Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21st. at 8:30am in the Parent Conference Room located across the school office. It will be a 20 minute meeting to discuss a few classroom matters such as our class curriculum. Many parents have informed me that they are unable to attend because of work obligations. It is not a mandatory meeting, if you are unable to attend I will send home with your child the handouts I will be distributing at the meeting.
- Progress Reports will be sent home Thursday, Oct. 22nd.
- Individual Picture Day will be Friday, Oct. 23rd. Please remember to bring Picture Money Envelope to Mrs. Resto in the Tuition Office. Children are allowed to wear their dress up clothes or their full uniform for the pictures.

- This week we will continue our "All About Me" unit for Module 1 and focus on our Five Senses. You can help your child by taking pictures or using old photos of themselves and discuss how they were using their 5 senses at that time.
- Children will continue to learn about counting groups of objects 1 -5. This week they will focus on counting groups of 5 objects in circular formation. Encourage your child at home to count in circular form and remember to have them place a mark where they start counting.
- Some children are beginning to show improvement with writing their names, continue to practice.
- Children should also continue to practice writing all the letters we have been working on. Have the children use play dough or tracing lines to form letters.
- All children did a wonderful job last week writing letters and drawing beginning sound pictures in their notebooks. Continue to review identifying beginning sounds in words by providing the word, using pictures or objects.

Students in all the PreK classes will sing a song that they have learned during Hispanic Heritage Month beginning at 9:00am. Following the PreK presentations students will be serving food. - Weather permitting we will be taking the children on a Nature Walk Monday morning through the park. If we need to postpone than we will go on Wednesday, Oct. 7th.
- Tuesday, Oct. 6th we will have a Fire Prevention Presentation from 10:00am - 10:30am with Firemen Bill and Ivan. Parents are welcome to attend.
- I want to inform all parents that we have a new Teacher Aide in our classroom, Mrs. Madera. She will be working along with Mrs. Gomez and Mrs. Martinez and has been a wonderful addition to our classroom.
- School Closed on Monday, Oct. 12th in observance of Christopher Columbus Day.
- Remember to check this blog after 3pm everyday for daily homework assignments.
- I want to remind all parents as I explained during our Parent Orientation Meeting, that in the morning you are to drop off your child and sign them in. Parents are not allowed in the classroom in the morning, if your child is an early drop-off Mrs. Rosa, Mrs. Gomez or Mrs. Madera will assist them with their breakfast. Children should also bring in their homework folders and place them in the blue homework box independently. Thank you all for your help and cooperation!
