Week of 5/16/11 - 5/20/11

News of the Week
- This week I will be administering NYSESLAT exams for - Speaking.  It's an achievement test to assess the proficiency of children with English as a second language.
- Keep reviewing daily.  It's important to also focus on math concepts we've learned throughout this year to help your child be prepared for the upcoming finals that will be a cumulative exam from September to June. 


Vocabulary Words of the Week
1.  adventure - an exciting or unusual experience.
2.  petrify - to be extremely afraid.
3.  dull - feeling bored.
4.  alert - fully aware; paying attention.
5.  rely - to depend on and put trust in.
6.  eager - having or showing great interest.
7.  Eucharist - the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ.
8.  caution - to avoid danger or harm.
9.  dissolve - to melt.
10. swift - to move with great speed.
