IMPORTANT REMINDER

I want to remind all parents that early drop off for your child begins at 7:00am.  Only those children are allowed to eat breakfast in the classroom.  If your dropping off your child at the regular time the school day begins which is 8:00am your child is not allowed to bring breakfast into the classroom. However, you are welcome to sit in the cafeteria with your child to make sure they have their breakfast before they come to the classroom. I take attendance promptly at 8:00am and we say our morning prayers and pledge of allegiance by 8:10am.  After prayers we immediately proceed to music class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays and Thursdays we have handwriting practice.
I also want to remind you to please drop off your child at the door, parents are not allowed in the classroom. You are not allowed to come in the classroom to give your child their breakfast even if you are an early drop off.  Like I mentioned above if you are not comfortable with your child eating breakfast without you, you may sit with them in the cafeteria.
If you have any questions please see me or Mr. Woods regarding this matter.
Thank you all for your cooperation.

Supply List for 2017-2018 School Year

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Pre-K 2!  I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  My name is Elizabeth Rodriguez.  I am beginning my eighteenth year as an early childhood educator and for the last thirteen years I have been working within the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of New York.  This will be my eighth year at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School and I am committed to providing a solid, well-rounded, academic program, in a caring, nurturing environment for your child.
If you have chosen to register your child into my class I know that you value the importance of a high quality early learning catholic education.  Pre-K will be one of the greatest milestones your child will reach. This important milestone will help guide your child and they will enter  Kindergarten ready to learn.  It is also the most important foundation to prepare them to thrive in elementary school and beyond.
As parents I understand the high expectations you have of me as your child’s teacher, but as your child’s teacher I also have high expectations of all my parents and together we will work to help your child achieve their highest potential.  I welcome you and your child and I look forward to an extremely exciting new school year!
Please find attached the needed supplies for this school year.  I will meet with all parents for our Parent/Teacher meeting before school starts to discuss with you our class regulations, curriculum, schedule, and answer any questions or concerns you might have.  I will also continue to provide any important information through this blog throughout the entire school year.  I look forward to meeting you all in September.

Sincerely,
Miss  Rodriguez

Week of 6/12/17 - 6/16/17

Dear Parents,

As I sit here and write our last blog of the school year, I'm a little sentimental as we are so close to the end of the school year.  I want to take this time to thank you all for entrusting your child to me, it has truly been an honor to be part of your child's early childhood education.  I also want to congratulate all the parents for choosing a Catholic education for your child.  The fact that you have enrolled your child in my class tells me that you value the importance of a structured curriculum and understand the importance of providing your child with a good educational foundation. I'm very proud of all of the children's accomplishments this year as I have challenged them to go above and beyond.  I pray that they continue working hard and striving always for the best and be just as successful as they progress to Kindergarten.  With that said, our Moving-Up Ceremony will be held June 21st at 11:00am in the school auditorium, children are to arrive to the classroom by 10:15am. The girls are to wear a summer dress with sandals and boys are to wear a bright color polo shirt with khaki bermuda shorts. If you have any questions please see me in the morning.

Thank you for including me in your child's development.

Best Wishes,
Miss Rodriguez
