Week of 11/30/15 - 12/4/15

Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. I also want to thank everyone for your donations to help those less fortunate during this Thanksgiving season.  As a school community we collected 1259 cans and raised enough money from your donations and Dress Down Fridays to buy 30 turkeys. Thank you for your help and cooperation!

Lessons of the Week:
-  This week we will continue our "Families and Communities" theme.  
Math: Children will identify and construct triangles, rectangles and squares. Children will use cut-out shapes to create family figures. 
Reading: Children will listen and respond to the story "The Shoemaker and the Elves." Children will retell the story in sequence order. Children will also continue working on their family books.
ReligionChildren will be identifying the members of the Holy family and preparing for the Advent season. 
Art: Children will continue to use tempera paint to paint family portraits. 
Social Studies: Children will identify different home jobs. 
Science: Children will identify healthy foods and draw pictures about their favorite family meals. 
Music and Movement: Children will learn the songs, "Jesus is our Light" and "This Little Light of Mine."

- Tomorrow Thanksgiving Mass 9am. Children are to wear their Sunday Best, no jeans and sneakers.

- We will have a Thanksgiving Lunch for the children and will provide them with a snack as well.  All they need to bring is two juices for themselves. Thank you.

Week of 11/23/15 - 11/27/15

News of the.Week
- Tuesday, Nov. 24th Thanksgiving Assembly for all Pre-K classes at 9am.  Each class will perform one Thanksgiving Day song they have learned in Music Class, all parents are invited. 

- Wednesday, Nov. 25th Thanksgiving Mass at 9am. Children are allowed to wear their Sunday best, no sneakers or jeans.   

- Wednesday children do not need to bring in snack, the Teacher Aides and myself will be making a Thanksgiving lunch for the children.  All they need to bring is two juice boxes for lunch and snack. 

- Wednesday morning is the last day for Canned Foods or if you would like to donate money to purchase turkeys. The class with the most cans will win a Pizza Party, please bring in cans and help us win.

Week of 11/16/15/ - 11/20/15

News of the.Week
- I would like all children to please bring in a copy of a family photo by Wednesday, Nov. 18th for a class activity.  Thank you 

- Friday, November 20th - Early Dismissal 12noon for Parent/Teacher Conferences. 

- Friday, November 20th Report Cards will be distributed. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held from 1pm - 7pm.  I will distribute report cards during our meeting.  Please be on time and give yourselves enough time for our meeting as the last parent will be seen at 6:45pm.
