Welcome to Pre-K 2 -- Supply List 2012 - 2013

Dear Parents/Guardians,

     Welcome to Pre-K 2!  I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  My name is Elizabeth Rodriguez.  I am beginning my thirteenth year as an early childhood educator and for the last eight years I’ve had the privilege to work within the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of New York.  This will be my third year at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School and I am committed to providing a solid, well-rounded, academic program, in a caring, nurturing environment for your child.  As parents I understand the high expectations you have of me as your child’s teacher, but as your child’s teacher I also have high expectations of all my parents and together we will work to help your child achieve their highest potential.  I welcome you and your child and I look forward to an extremely exciting new school year!

Moving - Up Ceremony Reminder

-  Tomorrow is our big day, our Moving - Up Ceremony.  Children are to arrive at 10:15am to our classroom, they are to wear the clothes I indicated on the previous blogs and the letter I sent home.  I also want to remind you that tomorrow is your child's last day of school.  The children took home the last of their belongings today, I also sent home their Moving - Up Photos which arrived today.
I want to thank you all for your wonderful help and I wish you a blessed and safe summer vacation!

Reminders

-  Please read carefully a letter sent home today in your child's book bag regarding the Tuition Company for the next school year.

-  Children began to take their folders and some of their supplies home today.  Please empty out their book bags and return to school tomorrow as more things will go home tomorrow and Wednesday.  Thank You.

My Dear Parents, 

       It's hard to believe this will be our last blog of the week, how time flew this year!!! Just want to remind everyone that our Moving - Up Ceremony is back on for Thursday, June 14th 11am, only 5 people for each child are welcome to come and that is including both parents, so you are allowed to invite 3 additional people. (Please be aware that if you have an open balance for Tuition or any other fees including After school fees, your child will not be able to participate on Thursday.)

On Thursday I want all children to meet in our classroom by 10:15am. 

Since our theme is the "Jungle" I decided to make life easier for everyone and the children are to wear the following:

Boys:  White Polo Shirt, Khaki Shorts.

Girls:  White Blouse, Khaki Skirts.

Also, I know times are hard but I'm asking if parents can please cooperate with $10. or anything you can to help with our Moving - Up Ceremony for some gifts for the children and some party decorations. I will greatly appreciate your support. 

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for a wonderful school year.  Thank you all for being patient and always working with me.  I have challenged the children tremendously this year and I am so very proud of all their accomplishments. I wish every one all the success in the world for the coming school years!

Note:  Wednesday will be our last official day in the classroom.  I'm preparing a day of fun for the children, so I'm allowing them to bring to school one of their favorite toys to share with their friends during playtime.

Welcome Back!  I hope everyone had a wonderful and enjoyable Easter Break with your families!
Just a few reminders:
We have begun our fourth and last quarter for the school year. Please continue to review daily with your child all basic reading, writing and math skills. Also, review all the Dolch Words that are listed on the blog for 10-15min. everyday.
Please make sure your child is wearing the appropriate school uniform.  Remember that morning activities clean-up is at 8am, so breakfast is done in the classroom by this time. If you want your child to have breakfast at school please arrive early enough so your child is not rushing to eat or miss out on morning reading or other morning activities with classmates.

- A reminder that all children must be in full uniform. Boots and sneakers are not allowed, children must wear their school shoes and their school ties. Check the Parent handbook and make sure your child is wearing the correct uniform. Thank You.
