News of the Week .
- Thursday, March 9th is National Barbie Day. Girls are allowed to dress up like "Barbie" and boys can dress up like "Ken." This is optional, there will not be a costume contest.
- Friday, March 10th s National Mario Brothers Day, children are allowed to dress up again as a one of the characters from Mario Brothers. This is also optional, there will not be a costume contest.
This week the children will be learning the following:
Religion: Children will learn about doing good deeds and about forgiveness. Children will also learn about the life of St. Patrick.
Reading:: Children will listen and respond to the story "The Nightingale."
Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Mm.
Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify beginning sound /m/. Children will blend CVC words.
Math: Children will learn about comparing numbers.
Science: Children will learn about the 3 states of matter.
Sight Words (4yr. old Group): Children will learn to read and write the sight word "little."
Review: 4yr. old children should be reviewing the following sight words everyday at home: a, and, away, big, blue, can, come, down, find, for, funny, go, help, here, I, in, is, it, jump.
