News of the Week:
- Halloween Parade and Party for children will be Tuesday, Oct. 31st. If you can please donate $5. for pizza and other Halloween treats I will greatly appreciate it.  Children are to come to school in their costumes and please make sure they have a treat bag for the parade.
- Halloween Parade will begin at 8:30am parents are invited and may return for the Halloween Costume Contest at 1:00pm.

This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion: Children will learn about God's gift of light.
- Science: Children will continue learning about their five senses. Last week of 5 Senses unit, this week children will learn about their sense of touch.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify initial sound /g/.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase G.
- Reading Comprehension: Children will identify story sequence.
- Writing: Children will write uppercase G.
- Math: Children will continue learning about position words.
- Social Studies: Children will learn about different kinds of families.

- Tomorrow Oct. 23rd School Closed - Teacher Conference Day

Week of 10/2/17 - 10/6/17

News of the Week:
- Wednesday, Oct. 4th Mass at 9am.  The annual blessing of domestic animals will occur during Mass.  Students may bring animals from home for this blessing.  If dogs are being brought to school they must return home with parent after Mass.

- There are still children going through separation anxiety in the morning.  As I explained in the Parent meeting, children are to be dropped off at the door to one of the classroom Aides in the morning, parents are not allowed in the classroom. The faster you drop them off the easier the transition will be for your child.  If your child is being dropped off early before 8:00am the Aides will help your child with their breakfast.  We will begin prayers and pledge of allegiance promptly at 8:00am, breakfast is not allowed in the classroom after 8:00am.

This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion: Children will be introduced to the cross and how to pray the Sign of the Cross.
- Science: Children will continue learning about their five senses.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify initial sound /k/.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Cc.
- Reading Comprehension: Children will listen and respond to a story.  Children will identify characters, setting, role of author and illustrator, and story genre.
- Writing: Children will write uppercase C and lowercase c.
- Math: Children will continue learning about sorting.
- Social Studies: Children will learn that all people have rights, roles and responsibilities.
