Supply List for 2018-2019 School Year!

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Pre-K 2!  I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  My name is Elizabeth Rodriguez.  I am beginning my nineteenth year as an early childhood educator and for the last fourteen years I have been working within the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of New York. This will be my ninth year at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School and I am committed to providing a solid, well-rounded, academic program, in a caring, nurturing environment for your child.
If you have chosen to register your child into my class I know that you value the importance of a high quality early learning catholic education.  Pre-K will be one of the greatest milestones your child will reach. This important milestone will help guide your child and they will enter Kindergarten ready to learn.  It is also the most important foundation to prepare them to thrive in elementary school and beyond.
As parents I understand the high expectations you have of me as your child’s teacher, but as your child’s teacher I also have high expectations of all my parents and together we will work to help your child achieve their highest potential.  I welcome you and your child and I look forward to an extremely exciting new school year!
Please find attached the needed supplies for this school year.  I will meet with all parents for our Parent/Teacher meeting before school starts to discuss with you our class regulations, curriculum, schedule, and answer any questions or concerns you might have.  I will also continue to provide any important information through this blog throughout the entire school year.  I look forward to meeting you all in September.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Rodriguez-Vasquez

Farewell and Thank You!

Dear Parents,

I want to remind everyone that our Moving-Up Ceremony will be this Thursday, June 21st at 10:00am in the auditorium.  Children are to arrive to the classroom by 9:00am.  Girls are to wear a summer dress and boys are to wear bermuda shorts and shirt. That is the last day of school for the children and may leave after the reception.
I want to take this time to thank everyone for a wonderful school year and for entrusting me with your child. We have worked very hard to help your child reach their highest potential and I am extremely proud of them for accomplishing so much this year. I urge you to please continue working with your child over the summer vacation, read to your child everyday and have them answer comprehension questions about the story.  Also, continue using their notebook to review letters, letter sounds and reading sight words.  Review all the math concepts we learned this year, use the math workbooks and phonics workbooks to review and use the uncompleted pages as a form of review.
Thank you again and I wish everyone a blessed and safe summer!

With Sincere Gratitude,
Miss Rodriguez
