- Lent Bowls went home today as well.  Help your child raise as much money as possible to fill up the bowl and return with child's name on it.  This collection during this Lent season will go towards helping those in need around the globe.  Thank you for your help!

Week of 2/24/20 - 2/28/20

News of the Week 
-  Dr. Seuss Birthday is coming up on Monday, March 2nd.  Children will be allowed to dress up as one of the characters from Dr. Seuss books!

- I am asking for all children to bring in a new box of 24 Crayola crayons as most of their crayons have gone missing or have broken. If you would like, crayons can be purchased in the supply room on the 2nd Floor from Mrs. Resto.

- Registration is open for Kindergarten. Please see Ms. Alba for more information. 

This week the children will be learning the following:
Religion - Children will understand the meaning of Ash Wednesday and the Lent season.  Children will understand the importance of forgiveness.
Reading -  Children will listen and respond to the story "The Nightingale." 
Phonics - Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letter Oo.
Phonemic Awareness -  Children will identify beginning sound /o/.  Children will identify rhyming words.  Children will begin to blend letter sounds together.
Sight Words - Children will learn to identify and read the sight word "little."
Math -  Children will begin to identify measurable attributes of objects.
Social Studies -  Children will learn the importance and the role of community helpers. 
Science - Children will learn about the states of matter.  Children will understand what happens when object freeze.

-  Wednesday, Feb. 19th, 100th Day of School Celebration coordinated by the 8th grade students.

- I am asking for all children to bring in a new box of 24 Crayola crayons as most of their crayons have gone missing or have broken. If you would like, crayons can be purchased in the supply room on the 2nd Floor from Mrs. Resto.
