Phonics Workbook- Complete pg. 36 Write the lowercase letter that stands for the beginning sound in the word for each picture.  Complete pg. 37 Read the two words and circle the word that tells about the picture and write the word on the writing line.

Homework - Wednesday, 1/17/18

Math Workbook - Complete pg. 64 Identify and write numbers 17 and 18.  Complete pg. 65 Identify and write numbers 19 and 20.

- Annette Pastor, NYCDOE Social Worker left a calendar after this mornings workshop filled with activities you can do at home with your child during the month of February.  She also has provided a form for you to fill out to access a library card for your child.  Please return the form to me immediately and Ms. Pastor will pick up the cards herself from the library for all the children.  Once all the children have their library cards we will begin making class trips to the library. Calendar and library card form was sent home today in your child's homework folder.

Week of 1/15/18 - 1/19/18

News of the Week 
- Wednesday, January 17, 2018 Parent Workshop entitled "Who's the Boss" at 8:30am in the library.

This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion: Children will continue learning about the gift of God's animals.  Children will listen and respond to the Bible story, "Noah's Ark."
- Science: Children will learn that when salt is mixed with ice it lowers the freezing point and the ice will melt. Children will experiment with ice cubes, thread and salt to show how the salt melts the ice.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will learn to identify beginning and ending sound /s/.  Children will blend sounds together.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Ss.
- Reading Comprehension: Children will listen and respond to the story, "Four Seasons for Sports," by Valerie Tripp. Children will identify story elements. Children will identify problem and solution in a story.
- Math: Children will understand addition as the joining of two groups.
