Week of 11/19/18 - 11/23/18

News of the Week
- Our annual Thanksgiving food canned drive to assist in the outreach program at St. Patrick's home  will end Nov, 21st.  Please bring in as many cans as possible.  The class with the most cans will win a pizza party.

- Tomorrow, November 19, 2018 it will be Mickey and Minnie Mouse Day.  Children are allowed to dress up as Mickey or Minnie Mouse for the day.  NO CONTEST WILL BE HELD THIS YEAR.  Dressing up is optional.

-  Tuesday, November 20, 2018 Early Dismissal 12 Noon.  Parent / Teacher Conferences will be held between 3:00pm - 8:00pm in my classroom.

- Wednesday, November 21, 2018 we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with the children in the classroom.  Children are to dress up as we will also be attending Thanksgiving Mass at 9:00am.  I am asking for $5. to help with our Thanksgiving feast and treats.

This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion:  Children will understand that Thanksgiving is also a special day set aside to thank God for all of our gifts.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify words with beginning sounds /e/ and /f/.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Ee and Ff.
- Reading Comprehension: Children will listen and respond to a different version of the story "La Tortuga."
- Math: Children will construct two dimensional shapes.
- Social Studies: Children will learn about different Thanksgiving Day traditions.
- Science: Children will learn about different forms of weather.
- Sight Words: Children will learn to identify and read the word "come."
