News of the Week
- Tomorrow Monday, May 21st Early Dismissal 12 Noon - Faculty Meeting
- Tuesday, May 22nd Pre-K Workshop - Transitioning to Kindergarten Workshop in library - NYCDOE Annette Pastor will be conducting workshop. Parents urged to attend.
- Thursday, May 24th a Pre-K 1 parent that is a Pediatric Dentist has invited us to the Pre-K 1 classroom for a lesson on dental care.
- Friday, May 25th and Monday, May 28th School Closed in observance of Memorial Day.
- Our Moving-Up Ceremony will be held Thursday, June 21st. Our theme for this year is the Ocean Theme. Girls are to wear a summer dress and boys are to wear bermuda shorts with a shirt.
This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion: Children will understand that Jesus teaches us different ways to show kindness and love.
- Science: Children will create a bubble chemistry solution. Children will review the life cycle of a butterfly. Children will release our classroom butterflies up in the greenhouse.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify letter sound /m/.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase Mm.
- Reading Comprehension: Children will determine important story details.
- Math: Children will order by weight. Children will measure volume.
- Social Studies: Children will understand the importance of Memorial Day.
Letters of the Week for Review: Cc, Oo, Gg, Aa, Dd, Ss, Ll, Ii, Tt, Ff, Ee, Hh, Uu, Bb, Rr, Nn, Mm.
