This Week Children will be learning the following:
- Religion: Children will understand that in the Bible we read about wonderful stories about Jesus and about God's love for us.
- Phonemic Awareness: Children will identify words with beginning sound /s/.
- Phonics: Children will identify uppercase and lowercase letter Ss.
- Reading: Children will listen and respond to the story, "The Tug of War."

- Sight Words: Children will learn to identify and read the words "look" and "make."
- Math: Children will learn about measuring length and height.
- Science: Children will identify the states of matter. Children will learn how matter changes by experimenting with a substance called, "oobleck."
- Social Studies: Children will learn the role of community helpers. Children will begin to learn about different kinds of land-forms and the physical characteristics of their community.
